In memory of our former colleague and much missed friend, Jim Malgieri, Pirum is proud to continue the “Jim Malgieri summer internship program”, in conjunction with Seton Hall University (Jim’s Alma Mater). After a successful inaugural campaign in 2022, we welcomed another passionate, dynamic, and talented individual into our vibrant community this summer.

Peter Nascone, a senior and rising star at Seton Hall’s Stillman School of Business, joined our New York Client Services team. Peter is majoring in Finance and Information Technology and will graduate in May 2024.

The Pirum/Jim Malgieri Summer Internship Program is an initiative designed to provide hands-on, practical cross-departmental experience for a student interested in getting a head-start in their professional journey. The multidisciplinary programme honours Jim’s devotion to mentoring, commitment to higher learning, and his work with Pirum as our strategic advisor from 2018 to 2021.

Jim always looked for candidates who thought creatively, found solutions to problems, and who strived to be difference-makers in the workplace as well as the communities in which they live.

This aligns to our mission and values and, like Jim, we are passionate about nurturing the next generation of leaders within the financial services and technology industries.

Phil Morgan, CEO at Pirum: “Jim was a great mentor and friend to me and we are proud to continue this program. It aims to provide emerging talent with a well-rounded, practical experience and a chance to explore their professional interests", said Philip Morgan. “Pirum is committed to developing the next generation of industry leaders; we believe that investing in aspiring professionals is essential for the future of our industry, and we are proud to be a part of that journey.”

Bob Zekraus, COO and Head of Americas:Pirum is extremely proud to keep Jim’s spirit alive by continuing with this annual summer internship program in his memory. Jim was the consummate professional. He provided so much guidance and support to so many people in his life. It is only fitting that we honour him every summer by bringing in a student from his alma mater to carry on his legacy. We would like to thank Jim’s family and Joyce Strawser, Ph.D., Dean of the Stillman School of Business, for their ongoing support. The work experience, ‘on the job’ training, and networking opportunities afforded to our interns have an immense value on developing the next generation of talent and future leaders in finance, fintech and their communities. On behalf of Pirum, we are happy to have Peter as part of our New York team and Pirum family for 10 weeks this summer.

Peter Nascone, Summer Intern: “I am so grateful and honored to be part of the Pirum/Jim Malgieri summer internship program. I am looking forward to using the skills and knowledge that I developed this summer at Pirum. It was an honor to be an intern in memory of Jim Malgieri.  I am very proud to keep his spirit alive and carry on his legacy. I would like to thank Joyce Strawser and Mark Schild from Seton Hall for helping me achieve this great honor, as well as everyone else who has helped me along the way, especially the excellent team at Pirum.”
