This summer, we are thrilled to welcome Jennie Neilsen, a senior from Seton Hall’s business school with a promising future in the industry, to join our New York office as part of the Client Services team. Jennie, who is double majoring in FinTech and Accounting, is also a tutor to business students and co-president of the Women in Leadership Initiative, as well as an active member of the Buccino Leadership Development Honors Program.

Jennie Neilsen, Pirum Client Services, New YorkWhen asked about her hopes for this internship, Jennie responded with, “I can’t wait to learn new things and develop my skillset with this talented team at Pirum, while continuing to acquire new knowledge of the industry”.

Given Jennie’s experience with other internships, I was curious how she thinks the Jim Malgieri Internship Program stands out from her previous opportunities. “Pirum fit the bill. I’m a finance and technology major and this is an outstanding FinTech opportunity, so that really stood out to me”. With technology reshaping the securities finance landscape, Jennie said she was keen to "utilize both skills in one internship, as I know this will help me in the future.”

Frank Seibold, Head of Commercial Development Americas, remarked “Jennie is a curious, analytical, and organized individual with a strong work ethic and data-driven approach. Her FinTech background is valuable, and Jennie’s passion and innovative mindset make her a perfect fit for this program, which offers aspiring FinTech professionals insights into the important role that vendors like Pirum play in the industry. The Jim Malgieri Internship Program benefits anyone pursuing careers at banks or trading desks by highlighting technology’s importance in finance, and by showcasing how industry participants leverage technology to ensure regulatory compliance. We are excited to welcome Jennie this summer and look forward to her contributions and growth.”

Jennie’s impressive academic achievements and leadership roles exemplify the qualities that Jim valued. “I’m incredibly honored and excited to join the Jim Malgieri Summer Internship Program", Jennie continued. "This opportunity allows me to develop new skills and knowledge, while contributing to an exceptional team at Pirum. Jim’s legacy of creativity and innovation is truly inspiring, and I hope to embody these qualities throughout my internship and beyond. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Pirum, as well as Dean Strawser and Mark Schild from Seton Hall, for offering me this unique and invaluable experience. It's a privilege to be part of a program that carries forward the spirit of Jim Malgieri.”

About the Jim Malgieri Summer Internship Program

In memory of our deeply missed friend and colleague, Pirum is proud to continue the Jim Malgieri Summer Internship Program, in collaboration with Seton Hall University for another year. Jim, who sadly passed in 2021, was a Seton Hall alumnus who remained a dedicated supporter of the University long after his graduation. Now in its third year, the program targets rising stars from Seton Hall’s business school, honoring a man who touched many hearts at Pirum and left a lasting impact on our industry. The program embodies Jim’s values, nurturing future leaders within the FinTech sector and demonstrating his commitment to higher education. Jim was always on the lookout for creative, outside-the-box thinkers who strove to make a difference in their work. We are proud to continue his legacy through this internship and pleased to welcome Jennie into the team.
