Pirum congratulates Cboe Clear Europe for securing regulatory approval to extend its SFT clearing service to Fixed Income instruments as eligible Loaned Securities, effective Monday, 24 August 2026.
Building on the success of its European equities and ETF clearing service launched in 2025, Cboe Clear Europe's expansion into Fixed Income encompasses government and corporate bonds across key markets, including Europe, the UK, and the US.
The development expands the established clearing framework already in place, supported by Pirum's ClearingConnect, which handles real-time trade instruction and lifecycle event processing, ensuring seamless straight-through processing for Fixed Income SFTs across Cboe Clear Europe's expanding membership.
Commenting on this milestone, Jan Treuren, Senior Director, Product at Cboe Clear Europe, said: "This is a significant milestone for Cboe Clear Europe. Our existing SFT Equities service provided a strong foundation and is growing in line with our expectations. Our expansion into Fixed Income represents a natural evolution of our strategy and a key step in growing our clearing offering. Expanding an existing service is one thing; bringing a new asset class into production is a different challenge altogether, for which we had great support from Pirum's ClearingConnect."
Commenting on Pirum's continued role in supporting the expansion, Rob Frost, Global Head of Business Solutions at Pirum, said: "Fixed Income is a natural and exciting next step for SFT clearing alongside Pirum’s increasing adoption among the Fixed Income community for Securities Lending Repo. We are delighted that Pirum’s ClearingConnect continues to support Cboe Clear Europe as they push the boundaries of what central clearing can deliver for the securities finance market."
